The Appalachians run threw 13 states and 397 counties and 195,00 sq. miles and has a current population of over 20 million people. There were many different background Native American, Irish, English, Scotch, and also German, and Polish that contribute to some of the diversity of Appalachian people to a degree.
The people of the Appalachians where also for a large part of hunter gatherers and farmers to some extent like modern people of the App. mountains that grow gardensand venture into the wild to hunt and gather wild food and game some ex. are Deer, Squrriel, Mushrooms, etc.
I will be adding more information on the food culture and also be adding recipes that my grandmother and others have passed on to me. I will be adding profiles of ingredients that are common in this region, that I and and many other people call home.
